SKRIVA SCRIPTWRITER SCHOLARSHIP

Skriva Writing School has launched an annual Scriptwriter Scholarship Award to support writers who face financial, cultural or social barriers to their training. We're offering a place on one of our scriptwriting workshops to the winner of the award so they can pursue their interest in screenplay writing. The award is open to scriptwriters who have not previously had a script commissioned or produced (though a short film is ok), and who would otherwise struggle to get on one of our courses.

We particularly welcome applications from ethnic minorities and LGBT communities.

The Scholarship:

If you win the award, you will get 6 months of mentoring to develop your writing plus a free place on any of our scriptwriting workshops held at Skriva Writing School's studio in the West End of Edinburgh (for a map, please check out our contact page - we're 5 minutes walk from Haymarket Station). We will discuss with the winner what their ambitions are and select the best course to help them get there.

Guidelines:

  • The award is open to scriptwriters who have not previously had a script commissioned or produced

  • The award is only open to applicants who fit into one of our specified categories

  • You must supply a writing sample along with the completed application form.

  • Skriva Writing School cannot cover the cost of travel to and from the training. Candidates must agree to cover these costs themselves.

Application:

Please send the completed application form plus your writing sample to enquiries@skrivawriting.com

Deadline for applications is 5.00pm on Friday 29th June 2018
